Secure Password Generator

Cryptographically random passwords, generated entirely on your device — nothing is ever transmitted or stored.

{*6[X8w,&,5SC+)P

Very strong

Length16 characters

Generated with the Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues) — nothing is sent over the network or stored anywhere.

How to use the password generator

  1. Drag the length slider to anywhere from 6 to 64 characters.
  2. Check or uncheck uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols to include.
  3. Click "Generate new password" for a new one at any time, then copy it with one click.

What makes a password strong

Password strength comes down to two things: length and the size of the character pool each position is drawn from. A longer password drawn from a larger pool (uppercase + lowercase + numbers + symbols) has exponentially more possible combinations for an attacker to guess than a shorter password drawn from a smaller pool.

Quick answer

A secure password generator should use a cryptographically secure random number source — like the Web Crypto API's crypto.getRandomValues(), which this tool uses — rather than Math.random(), which isn't designed to be unpredictable enough for security purposes. Combining at least 16 characters with uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols produces a password that's extremely difficult to guess or brute-force.

Password Generator — FAQs

It uses the Web Crypto API's crypto.getRandomValues(), a cryptographically secure pseudo-random number generator built into every modern browser — the same category of randomness source used for cryptographic keys, not the weaker Math.random() function some simpler generators rely on.
